Alva’s college has introduced Department of PG Studies in Organic Chemistry in the year 2010, affiliated to Mangalore University. The department has the objective to provide the student’s knowledge based and skills enhanced activities to face future challenges. Students are exposed to theoretical and practical aspects of Organic Chemistry, Natural products, Medicinal Chemistry, Heterocyclic Chemistry, Spectroscopy and Chromatographic techniques, which provides strong foundation & motivation towards basic research, industrial & teaching profession and meet global challenges.

Candidates seeking admission for M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry shall have studied
- Chemistry as optional/major / special subject in the Bachelor Degree programme
- Physics and Mathematics as optional / major / special / subsidiary subjects either at B.Sc. or at PUC for two years (11th and 12th Standard).
