Adoption scheme  for Meritorious, Sports, Cultural and other students

Goal :

  • To provide this facility to proficient students
  • To provide this facility to socially marginalized section of students
  • To encourage young cultural and sports enthusiasts to continue and successfully complete higher education simultaneously nourishing their extracurricular interests
  • To amalgamate and cherish diverse practices under a single institution

Keeping the vision of the college in mind and also considering the other deserving candidates, the management is providing scholarships to these candidates in the form of adoption. The scheme of adoption was launched by the Chairman of the Institution in order to fulfill college vision. It might be partial or complete adoption based on which the management adopts these selected students under its wing and provides them support to complete their education while nurturing and orienting the student’s flair towards a platform of exposure and exploration. Simultaneously these students are equally encouraged and accordingly guided with quality education, food and accommodation, and study materials for fruitful completion of their higher education.

Candidates are selected based on the following sub-categories:

  1. Cultural adoption
  2. Sports adoption
  3. Merit based adoption
  4. Others :
  • Adoption of differently abled
  • Adoption of Tribal’s

The practice:

Certain protocols are followed in order to select applicants for various adoption schemes based on which the candidates can obtain partial or total adoption.

Step I. Inviting applications

Step II. Screening

Step III.  Testing/Validating

Step IV. Short Listing

Step V. List Display

Step VI. Briefing the students and their parents/guardians:

The students and their parents/guardians are familiarized with facilities provided under their respective adoption scheme along with terms and conditions which have to be abided by the students.

Cultural Adoption: The applicants are supposed to mention their interest in the cultural activities. At the beginning of every academic year, these applicants are tried out to validate if they are suitable to be part of the cultural adoption program. Aspiring candidates are required to attend the cultural selection test in which the candidates are screened based on their performance by professional trainers. The students who already possess certificate for any art or cultural form of dance or music at national or state level competitions have to produce the same. If these certificates are recognized and found to be valid then these students are consider for adoption.

Sports Adoption: Every academic year, a 10 days sports camp is conducted in April where all the applications are considered. During the camp, the applicants are put through their paces under various sports and athletic criteria to judge whether they are suitable for the adoption scheme. The camp provides complimentary food and accommodation for all the applicants. The selected candidates are provided with complete adoption. They are required to   attend regular training in order to build their physical strength and improve their talent at the same time. Once sufficiently trained, these students are provided opportunity to take part in various sports events.

Merit Based Adoption: The merit based adoption is made known to the applicants through admission pamphlets. The pamphlets display the merit required by the students who can be adopted.  Furthermore, the candidates who have obtained the required percentage of marks (above 90 percent in their PUC examination) are informed about their adoption.  The students will be continued under adoption scheme provided they obtain the required percentage (85%) at the end of every academic year.

Other Adoptions: Adoption scheme is provided for differently abled and tribal students. They are considered for complete adoption scheme after scrutinizing their valid documents. Once in every three months, a meeting is held to discuss their welfare.
