Department of PG Studies in Commerce

Introduction

Established in the year 2009, Department of PG Studies in Commerce (M.Com – General) is having more than a decade’s expertise in teaching the art of Commerce and Management. The M.Com programme offered by the Department is a two-year full time ( Four Semester) programme affiliated to Mangalore University and Recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The program structure is designed in such a way as to impart basic knowledge of different disciplines of Commerce and management in the first year. In the second year, knowledge and practical skills are imparted in the area of specialization opted.

We at Alva’s believe in creating an environment, which allows every faculty member to experiment and develop innovative ideas under the guidance of experts from the Industry and Academia. This enables them to excel in their chosen field of academics and thereby can support, groom & nurture Commerce graduates to blossom in corporate world. We motivate students to go for start-ups to become employers than being employees and generate employment opportunities for others.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Com/B.B.M. /B.B.A. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme provided they have obtained not less than 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in aggregate in all the subjects excluding languages and group III subjects.
