B.V.A., (Bachelor of Visual Art) at Alva’s college is a unit of Alva’s Education Foundation established in the year 1998. It is affiliated to Mangalore University and is a unique educational institution that embodies all the academic and cultural charters of AEF. It offers a wide range of graduate and post graduate programmes and traditional courses re-designed with new combinations to link them closely with employment market. It provides a caring environment in the field of Visual and Performing arts where the students, a rich mix from different cultures and backgrounds, are initiated to discover and develop their individual creative abilities. Besides quality education, it is the quality of life on campus that provides for well being and overall development of students. A superb hilly landscape, rich in vegetation, provides an ideal ambiance for study. The AEF organizes many cultural and literary festivals and workshops like Alva’s Virasat, Varna Virasat, Shilpa Virasat, Nudisiri, Shilpasiri, Chitrasiri and many more to infuse rich meaning into the contemporary social life which is otherwise fraught with modem monotony and mundane fullness. The relevant curriculum substantiates this by opening avenues in assimilating knowledge of the latest trends in the various disciplines taught, ensuring their mindset. Our Endeavor is to motivate them to realize their academic pursuit as well as finding out satisfying and rewarding career. The future holds opportunities of professional fulfillment with a sense of contribution to the betterment of society.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME:
The duration of the programme shall extend over a period of 4 academic years.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
A Candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination in any general or vocational stream (Class XII or 10+2) Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other Board considered as equivalent thereto by Mangalore University is eligible for admission to the BVA Course.
