Introduction
The department of Economics was started in the year 1998 along with the inception of Alva’s College in Vidyagiri at Moodubidire. The department offered the subject to the students of BA, BBM, B.Com, BA-HRD. The department created a platform for the undergraduate students to develop the economical analytical skills, which needed to work successfully in today’s rapidly globalising world. It supports and enables the students to choose a career in economics, financial research, banking, finance, sales and marketing etc. The department in the year 2024-25 has got autonomous status as the college became Autonomous.
At present the department is having three permanent appointees. Dr. Eswara M.G is functioning as Head of the Department from 2023 onwards.
