The field of Mass Communication and Journalism has grown leaps and bounds in the twenty first century. Media with its enlarged foot print on the earth has attracted the attention of one and all, be it the common man or the academics. In view of the growing demand for creative and competent talent in the fast-growing media industry, the Department has initiated a full-time Masters degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. The course is designed to train students equally in academics as well as practical aspects of working for the media and groom the students to be professionals and fit to survive in the current market scenario.

Objectives

To amplify professional, academic and research temperament through focused attempts
To Prepare the students to address grass-root level predicaments, so that they can be real asset to the society in true sense
To Build professional, personal and societal competencies among students through their day to day journalistic activeness

Eligibility: The candidate who have passed any Bachelor Degree examination (BA/BCom/BSc/BBA/BVA/BA-HRD/any other) approved by Mangalore University are eligible for the program. Minimum score of 40% for SC/ST/Category-I and 45% for others (aggregate including languages and Group III subjects).
