Interaction Program

Moodbidire:

‘Writing is vital for success in most careers and disciplines today, being a skilled writer is not an impossible dream. It is closer to reality than you might believe’, said Mangaluru Udayavani Beaureu Chief, Manohar Prasad.

He was talking in ‘Take Off’ series of interaction session organized by Alva’s PG Studies in Journalism for its students, on Tuesday, at Alva’s Journalism Seminar Hall.

One has to make consistent efforts to expand the horizon of their knowledge and its obviously reading can be an effective tool in achieving this, he added.   ‘Most of the time we ignore the trivial things which transpire in our environs but being a journalist one should be sensitive enough to respond the happenings of his surroundings, he noted. In fact Common people see an incident as ‘what has happened’, while journalist observe it as ‘why it happened’ and that is where we stand different,’ said scribe.  Language, creativity, dedication and adoptability are the key requisites of present media industry and make sure of these qualities before venturing, he opined.

Expressing dismay over recent developments in media, he told Journalist should always strive to bring reformation in the society through true and fair journalism. Answering query to the student about controversies of media he said, ‘Journalist suppose to be sensitive but they should not create sensational in their writings’.

Alva’s PG Studies Journalism Dept Head Dr Moulya Jeevanram, Lecturers Srinivas Pejatthya, Geetha Bilinele and Reshma B were present among others.
